The “Prom” or the Promenade des Anglais (Walkway of the English) name comes from the English aristocrats who came to Nice in the 18th century to enjoy the health benefits of the local climate. Today, the promenade is not only a popular place for walks and ocean access, but also for sports. A bike path runs its entire length, and when visiting, you’ll be sure to see runners, roller skaters, and other sports enthusiasts. It’s also a short walk from the Old Town of Nice.
